What is Yoga?
What is Yoga?

The Sanskrit word yoga means "to yoke” or “to unite” – a practice of coming together of the mind, body and spirit. In the West yoga is more commonly known by the physical poses or postures, otherwise known as “asanas” in the Sanskrit language.
In India, the 5000 + year old birthplace of yoga, asana is just one of eight “limbs” of yoga. There, practitioners focus on mental and spiritual well-being, breath work and meditation so that they can be one with the divine. As described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra’s, the foundational texts of yoga philosophy and practice, yoga is a practice which stems into all aspects of human life, including our relationships with others, our health, our breathing and our meditation path.
At Living Truth we believe that the mental and physical practices that we engage in, enhance our daily interactions and life off the mat, outside the studio. Join us and see what beautiful changes appear in your life.
